Health Promotion

Over the past number of years, the Health Promotion Working Group within Scoil Ghobnatan has done tremendous work in relation to promoting and developing the health and well-being of the children and staff attending the school. This hard work was rewarded when on Thursday April 14th 2011, Scoil Ghobnatan celebrated in style, the raising of its Health Promotion Schools Flag. This was a fantastic achievement and it indicates and acknowledges all the hard work and effort that the school has put in over the years.

Everyone in the school worked very hard to make the celebration day a day to remember. The school was decorated with lots of attractive and colourful art work which was prepared by each class in the school. Bunting, balloons and banners completed the look. The School Band and Choir were there and entertained one and all with their music and song. A child representing each standard within the school spoke about what being healthy means to them. The ‘SCOIL GHOBNATAN HEALTHY LIVING RAP’, which was written especially for the occasion, was rappped with gusto and enthuasism, by pupils in 5th & 6th class.
